Two Trips: Sept.22-23 and Oct.22

Our last organized pelagic trip of the 2018 year (Oct.7-8, 2018) got its target: 2 Great Skuas in mid-Gulf Of Maine

This trip is about Seabirds

OK OK, so we are not going to Antarctica, but our 9/29 trip will focus on 1) Seabirds [as many species as we can find in the Stellwagen/OuterCapeCod area, some of which will come from the mid South Atlantic, such as the Greater Shearwaters from Nightingale Island & Gough Island and nearby], and especially 2) hunting to find one elusive species... an Arctic-breeding gull which passes through this area in September in very small numbers. Its sort of like my wife's question about this trip: "So, you're going ten miles out on the ocean, parking there, and waiting for one particular arctic gull to fly by on its way south?" (-:
All this is outlined in the next few posts below.
