In no particular order (and including suggestions from Tony Gaston, Mike Gochfeld & Guy Tudor), mostly foraging areas in the ocean, although with a few colonies on land....
- Benguela Current and waters off SW Africa (S.Africa, Namibia, Angola).
- Bering Sea and waters off Aleutians, off Alaska.
- California Current off Washington, Oregon, California and Baja California.
- Hawaii to Midway area.
- Kuroshio/Oyashio Currents meeting and areas off Japan, including Ogasawara Islands and Teuri Island off Hokkaido.
- Spitsbergen, Svalbard and Franz Josef Land, etc. for far north seabirds, e.g., Ivory Gull.
- Iceland and waters off W.Europe. Including Farne Islands off Northumberland, UK.
- Canary Current and Macaronesia (Azores, Canaries, Cape Verde) & nearby islands off Spain, Portugal and NW Africa.
- Galapagos Islands.
- Humboldt Current (aka Peru Current) off Chile and Peru. The most productive marine ecosystem in the world, and also the largest upwelling system.
- Falkland Current off SE Argentina, Falkland Islands, South Georgia, Sandwich Islands.
- New Zealand, Tasman Sea, Bass Strait, and nearby waters. Including Kaikoura, N Island, N Zealand.
- West Australia Current, west of Australia
- Antarctica, several areas, including Antarctic/Palmer Peninsula.
