This July 24, 2016 trip from Gloucester (the blue round trip route track) was a shortened research and preparation trip for our longer 8-hour upcoming Stellwagen trip (which had to be rescheduled for October 1st). It included J.Frontierro (7 Seas Whale Watch), capt.Sebbie, W.Petersen, K.Carson, T.Silva and T.Robben. Birds included 20 Cory's Shearwaters, 1 Gr. Shearwater, 60-100 Wilson's Storm-petrels. We picked through all the storm-petrels hoping a Leach's (with its unique flight style) or other would pop out, but no luck. Whales included 4 Humpback (Pele, Jabiru, Cajun and then Mayo), 4-5 Minke, 2 Finback (great close-up views). Note Cashes Ledge in the upper right corner of our map below. Green circles are Christmas Bird Count circles, including the one out in the middle of Stellwagen Bank (the area enclosed by the white lines). We WILL use Gloucester as the port for our Stellwagen trip this year, on October 1st...
